  • Alliance to Halt Fermi 3 (ATHF3)Alliance to Halt Fermi 3

    The purpose of ATHF3 is to: Halt the construction of DTE Energy's proposed Fermi-3 Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR) through a public education campaign based on non-violent resistance to nuclear power; Encourage and demand the shutdown of DTE Energy's existing Fermi-2 nuclear reactor as soon as possible; and Encourage and advocate development of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and conservation programs as alternatives to nuclear power.

    The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy (DRFC), a 501(c)(3) organization, is responsible for the establishment, improvement, operation, maintenance, security, programming and expansion of the Detroit RiverWalk and associated green spaces. Through its public/private partnerships, the DRFC will support the development of the riverfront district and facilitate community access to the waterfront. The DRFC will be a leader in:

    •Developing a collective sense of ownership, accessibility, and responsibility;
    •Enhancing Detroit's image to emphasize its iconic, international riverfront;
    •Creating an inviting destination for all.

In the face of enormous environmental challenges, virtually all sectors of our society are now scrambling to create solutions, and the Ecology Center plays a critical role in advancing the best models.

    ECCSCM is a non-profit organized to educate the public on the health risks and the environmental damage Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) have brought to our community and its watersheds.

    The Friends Of The Detroit River envisions an ever-improving quality of life for people, plants and animals in southeast Michigan and southwest Ontario through development of a balance of grassroots advocacy and staffed programs forming an environmental group that watches and protects the Detroit River including creation of a highly visible resource center focusing on Detroit River issues, programs, research, policies and partnerships.

    Friends of the Rouge is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, founded in 1986, that promotes restoration and stewardship of the Rouge River ecosystem through education, citizen involvement, and other collaborative efforts, for the purpose of improving the quality of life of the people, plants and animals of the watershed.

    The Huron River is considered to be the cleanest urban river in Michigan. Much of the credit for this status goes to the Huron River Watershed Council (HRWC) and those who saw the need for the river’s protection. Even though HRWC has no enforcement powers, we have accomplished our goals through the use of technical data, factual information and citizen stewardship to influence decisions made by various local agencies, businesses, and individuals.

    Our mission:

    Conservation of all native plants.
    •Education of the public to appreciate and preserve plant life.
    •Sponsorship of research and publication on the plant life of the State.
    •Sponsorship of legislation to promote the preservation of Michigan native flora.
    •Establishment of suitable sanctuaries and natural areas.
    •Cooperation in programs concerned with the use and conservation of all natural resources and scenic features.

    To support Michigan faith communities in becoming better stewards of the earth by promoting and implementing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and related sustainable practices through education, advocacy, and action.

    Michigan IPL is a coalition of faith communities across the state. Historically, grassroots efforts originating in churches helped abolish slavery, win women's suffrage, and lead the Civil Rights movement. Today, Michigan IPL works statewide to gather and focus the immense grassroots power within Michigan's faith communities to help them become leaders in the effort to minimize humankind's negative impact on the environment.

    Michigan LCV Education Fund engages elected officials, business leaders and all Michigan residents to take action on the most pressing land, air and water issues facing our state.     The Michigan Waterfront Alliance is a unified voice choosing to protect Michigan's water resources for future generations.

    MWA is a nonprofit corporation formed to protect, preserve and promote the wise use of inland waters of the State of Michigan. This mission will be accomplished by active participation in the legislative process, court cases and/or involvement with related agencies or departments. This membership corporation is closely aligned with the Michigan Lake and Stream Associations and has the ability to influence legislation through lobbying (an action not allowed by the ML&SA, a 501C3 organization).

The land we protect and steward is very diverse, ranging from pristine and undisturbed natural areas to fragmented ecosystems in the urbanized areas closer to the cities of Flint, Pontiac, and Detroit. We believe that all are essential to the quality of life and the economic vitality of the communities we serve.

We help groups & individuals tap into the Network's wealth of knowledge & experience in preserving biodiversity.
